Family and community have always been important to both me and my husband, with that in our minds and hearts we made the decision to move, along with our two young daughters, to Spokane, WA following his retirement from the United States Navy in 1985 in an effort to give our girls the opportunity to experience and develop relationships with their large extended family all of whom had made Spokane their home years before. While Dennis returned to school to earn a college degree in preparation to rejoin the civilian workforce, I accepted an entry level position in the front office of an insurance agency marking the beginning of my career in insurance in 1986. After discovering that I not only enjoyed the customer service side of my position, I also found the field of insurance interesting and challenging; I embraced every opportunity to learn the various aspects and disciplines within the insurance industry and successfully obtained my Insurance license by the end of that first year. I strongly believe that great things can be accomplished when approached with a caring heart, sharp eye, hard work and dedication, this is how I live my life, how I have been successfully married to my best friend for 40 years, what I taught my girls and what I now see them teaching their children and what I felt very passionately about wanting to give to my clients. After several years of building a book of business based upon this philosophy on behalf of reluctant Agency Owners I decided it was time to open my own agency; in 1997 Accurate Insurance, Inc. opened its doors. In addition to my responsibilities to my family, clients and as a small business owner, I served as a past Lt. Governor for Division 46 of Kiwanis Pacific Northwest and maintain a position as District Young Children Priority One Chairperson and a position on the board of directors for the South Hill Kiwanis, of which I am a charter member.  Through this organization I am able to stay connected to the community where we made our home by actively serving and supporting local children’s charities.
